18th Century French 18k gold snuff box, of traditional oval form, the lid set with an oval enamelled plaque depicting Venus and Cupid by an altar in an Arcadian landscape, opalescent bead frame and opal enamel borders, the ground enamelled in translucent cobalt blue over engine-turning ground.
Hallmarked with French gold guarantee marks, Paris, year 1783, Maker Jean-Etienne Blerzy.

19th Century Japanese Meiji period silver wine jug, simply exceptional and magnificent quality, The lidded wine jug is of classical shape, mounted with a finely decorated finial and unusual scroll handle and applied with a pierced collar depicting flying birds amongst flowers, standing on a domed foot chased with acanthus leaves.
Signed with Japanese characters and makers mark M.S for The Musashiya Company.

20th Century Japanese Meiji period very fine silvered figure of a wood pigeon. The naturalistically modeled bird with gold set eyes, with realistic engraved feathers, applied with niello decoration to the beak and feet. Underneath signed with the makers mark.
