19th Century German (Hanau) silver impressively large lidded tankard, in the style of the early 16th Century pieces, beautifully chased and embossed with bacchanalia and agricultural scenes, embossed with cherubs, grotesque masks and surrounded by dense grapevine and floral decorations. Tankard applied with a very decorative scroll handle, the hinged lid is embossed with fruits and tiger masks, terminating with a cast cherub finial.
Hallmarked with a German 13 mark (800+ silver ), later French mark ET.

19th Century Victorian Silver matched three-piece table garniture centerpiece, composing of massive three-light candelabra supporting a central glass comport and two matching comports to each side. The central candelabra and two comports are surmounted by a beautifully matching cut-glass bowls. Hallmarked English silver (925), London, year 1864 (i), Maker's mark A.M for Alexander Macrae. The comports are hallmarked English silver (925), London, year 1860 (e), S.S & W.N for Stephen Smith & William Nicholson.
