ANTIQUE 19thC INDIAN SOLID SILVER TEMPLE SHAPED TEA CADDY, OOMERSI MAWJI c.1880

19th Century rare Indian Colonial silver tea caddy shaped as a small Hindu courtyard temple. Of square form on a stepped foot, highly chased and embossed, decorated with floral sprays and scrolling vine within cusped arches on a finely stippled ground, alternating sides with a doorways. The hinged domed and gadrooned lid surmounted with a piriform shaped finial. This tea caddy is particularly fine quality. but unfortunately unmarked. Judging by the style and the smallest attention to details, I would strongly attribute this piece to Oomersi Mawji, also having come across identical pieces bearing the O.M mark and a similar caddy on stand can be seen on my website hallmarked by O.M.
