Antique 17th Century British very rare and original John Speed (1551-1629) map of The West Ridinge of Yorkeshyre (Yorkshire) with The Most famous and fayre Citie Yorke described 1610, John Sudbury and George Humbell, publication 1610, engraved map, map measuring 383mm x 512mm, English text on reverse (pages 79-80, register T2), mounted in gilt frame, glazed front and rear. John Speed is undoubtedly the most famous single figure in the early history of the English map making.
