SUPERB 20THC FRENCH AIR FORCE SOLID SILVER CIGAR & CIGARETTE HUMIDOR BOX C.1927

20th Century Art Deco silver mechanised cigar and cigarette humidor box, sarcophagus-shaped, engine turned and applied with a fine acanthus leaf boarders, sides mounted with realistically modelled lion masks with bars in mouth acting as turn handles to open the four compartments of a wood lined interior. The front bearing the French badge of the FAFL (Free French Air Force) with the Cross of Lorraine.

Hallmarked with English silver marks (925), London, year 1927 (m), Maker DBH (Dyas Beverley Hampton), Patent Pending.

19th Century Victorian silver & horn mounted table "gimble" cigar lighter. The large Blackbuck antelope horn is mounted with a silver orb-shaped burner on gimble wivel mechanism, ensuring the light wick is always upright no matter how the lighter is passed or carried, resting on a scroll supports.
