A superb 20th Century English solid silver notepad and pencil. This writing set includes a fitted pencil and notepad with an engine-turned exterior. The hinged lid is engraved with a large Tudor manor house, set among trees, foliage, and a clouded sky. The underneath of the lid is engraved with the date "2nd January 1976". A striking piece with great character and a sense of history.
The exact identity of the house depicted remains unknown. Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London & Birmingham (Notepad made in London, Pencil made in Birmingham), Year 1974 & 1970 (Notepad made in 1974, Pencil made in 1970), Maker's mark A&Co Ltd (Asprey & Co Ltd).
