Antique 18th Century French magnificent three-colured 18k gold snuff box, of oval form, the hinged cover with an oval plaque, cast, chased and applied with a dog and a bird within a classical landscape, within a twisted rope border, the sides with musical trophies, the base, sides and cover each with star and bead heightened engine turning.
Hallmarked with French gold hallmarks, made by Nicolas Marguerit (fl. 1763-1790), Paris, 1777/1778, with the décharge mark of Henry Clavel.
