Antique 19th Century German 18K solid gold snuff box of rectangular cushion form. The lid is engraved with floral motifs and diagonal geometric patterns, finished with an applied floral thumb piece. At its centre, a cartouche framed with floral and foliate decoration. The sides continue the same decorative style with a slightly bulbous profile. The base mirrors the lid’s design, with subtle variations in the floral engraving. Comparable examples typically date to the mid-19th Century. Hallmarked 18k gold (750/1000), makers mark is rubbed and unknown to me. (In a diamond lozenge).
