Antique 20th Century possibly French 14ct gold retractible pencil. Designed to be attached to a key chain or as a pendant, this pencil features a blue cabochon sapphire decorative tip which is covered by the hinged chain link. Upon pulling the pencil out, the extending slidng mechanism inside allows the pencil to be ergenomically used to write. A wonderful item which is just as useful now as it was then. The pencil is not hallmarked but has a small engraving inside "60244".
