Antique early-19th Century Swiss 18k gold & enamel snuff box, of rectangular form, with cut corners, the hinged lid is adorned with a charming scene depicting a picturesque harbor scene with a village and mountains in the background, signed Ville de Verdon en Juvie. This scene is framed by a gold surround boarder. The bottom and sides of the box are decorated with blue enamel on a guilloche background. Hallmarked with a makers mark for Guidon, Remond, Gide & Co, (active in Geneva, 1792-1801).
