ANTIQUE 20thC FRENCH SILVER GILT & ENAMEL, PEARL MOUNTED WALKING CANE / SWAGGER STICK c.1900

Antique 20th Century French silver gilt and enamel walking cane / swagger stick. The handle is of tapering cylindrical form, widening slightly towards the top. It is applied with a light blue guilloché enamel with an engine turned pattern ground. The upper rim and domed lid are mounted in gilt silver, the border with seeded pearls and centred with a pearl mounted in the rounded finial. A plain gilt collar separates the handle from the shaft. The shaft is wooden and tapers towards the tip. Approximately 30 centimetres down the shaft there is a gilt band.
