Antique 19th Century Indian three piece tea set, comprising a teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl. Each piece stands on a circular pedestal foot and has a rounded, slightly lobed body. The surfaces are decorated in repoussé with large shaped cartouches depicting figural scenes. These panels are framed by chased foliate and scroll decoration. The teapot has a curved spout with engraved detailing at the base and a shaped handle.
The hinged lid is decorated with floral chasing and finished with a finial formed as a rider seated on an elephant. The milk jug features a wide pouring lip and scroll handle, while the sugar bowl has twin handles. Both repeat the same figural panels and foliate ornament as the teapot, creating a consistent design across the set.
