DESCRIPTION
Antique early-20th Century American Jugandstil richly gilded on copper cocktail shaker with twelve goblets on tray. Made in a very unusual and distinctive style called Jugendstil ("Youth Style") was an artistic movement, particularly in the decorative arts, that was influential primarily in Germany and elsewhere in Europe to a lesser extent from about 1895 until about 1910. It was the German counterpart of Art Nouveau. The shaker and goblets are applied with multi-coloured paste stones and richly gilt. Stamped "Apollo E.P.N.S. Bernard Rice's Sons Inc", Apollo Studios of N.Y. was a division of Bernard Rice's & Sons and items marked with the Apollo stamp were made from 1920 - 1922. This cocktail set is in fabulous condition and is a must for any collector or just as a stand alone item, as useful today as it was the day it was made.
