20thC SET OF FOUR AMERICAN SOLID SILVER & ENAMEL CIGARETTE BOXES BY CARTIER

A superb 20th Century exceptionally rare set of four American solid silver and enamel cigarette boxes. Each lid is decorated with a different cigarette brand: “Lucky Strike,” “Old Gold,” “Camel,” and “Chesterfield.” The boxes feature a sliding mechanism, allowing them to interlock in pairs. The exterior is plain apart from the enamel decoration, while the interior is richly gilt. Each one is stamped "Cartier, STERLING 925 / 1000".
