Antique mid-18th Century French 18K solid gold & enamel miniature watch case / patch box, round shaped, very finely embossed and the lid mounted with a hand painted enamel miniature of a young lady, lid applied with elegantly shaped thumb-piece. Hallmarked with French gold guarantee marks, acid tested 750+ gold purity, inside bearing a later inscription 'Mrs Potter Palmer X Mas 1889'

CONDITION

Enamel miniature has a hairline crack and scratches.
