20th Century Austrian gem-set and enamelled silver gilt cup with cover, the straight sided bowl standing on spreading foot is inspired by early medieval lidded goblets, all sides profusely applied with cast silver scrollwork decorated with muti-coloured enamels, profusely set with precious gem stones, fresh water pearls. Hallmarked with small Austria-Hungarian marks (used 1901-1921), Vienna.

DESCRIPTION

Antique 20th Century Austrian gem-set and enamelled solid silver gilt cup with cover, the straight sided bowl standing on spreading foot is inspired by early medieval lidded goblets, all sides profusely applied with cast silver scrollwork decorated with muti-coloured enamels, profusely set with precious gem stones, fresh water pearls, the lid finial is adorned with a horseman holding a joust (possibly St-George)

The piece is excellent condition, very decorative and precious. Hallmarked with small Austria-Hungarian marks (used 1901-1921), Vienna, the piece dates to the 1900's.
