Discription
Antique 18th Century Georgian pair of Solid Silver candlesticks, beautifully cast and richly gilt, stunning leafy Rococo design, detachable nozzles unmarked but bearing the same small family crest of the sticks. The two Georgian candlesticks have been converted in candelabra in the mid 20th Century, as the branches were realized by the great luxury firm and retailer Asprey & Co in the same Rococo style to fit the Georgian sticks. The candlesticks and the branches are Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard), London, but the sticks are Georgian, year 1749 (O), Maker's mark EG (Elizabeth Godfrey). The branches year 1966 (l), Maker's mark A&CoLtd (Asprey & Co, one of the greatest English luxury brands and retailers).
