DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century large and impressive Regency Solid Silver centerpiece, on a triangular base embellished with acanthus leaves, each foot surmounted by cast stags (matching the engraved family crest), profusely applied with acorn leaves in relief, the stem shaped as three large classical figures holding a cornucopia, the centre is applied with a large cast armorial depicting two flags and military-related objects, the removable bowl chased and pierced with grapevine.
The piece is engraved with a coat of arms with a family crest above matching the cast stags on a rope, the flags in the cast armorial also depicting a coat of arms and crests (hunting horn and Tudor rose) and the initials R.Y F.C, the other flag depicting a cypher "crowned GR".
Each part is Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, year 1828 (n), Maker's mark "WE" for William Eley II.
