Description
Antique 19th Century Georgian Solid Silver magnificent Soup Tureen and Cover, impressively large and exceptionally heavy, oval form on four cast gigantic foliate scroll feet with acanthus junctions, cast handles realistically modelled as branches with acorn junctions, applied floral border, the domed cover with conforming decoration and handle. Both the tureen and the cover are engraved with a crest. Each part (including the cover's handle) is Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard), London, year 1824 (i), Maker's mark ICWR (Joseph Craddock & William Ker Reid, important Georgian silversmiths).
