DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century Victorian solid silver water jug, made in the 'Teniers' style, (a renowned Dutch painter), decorated with a rural landscape and scenes of peasants drinking, standing on scroll feet with drinking peasants, the handle realistically modelled as a tree branch and figural finial.
Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, year 1870 (p), Maker's mark IH&RR (John Hunt & Robert Roskell), stamped on the base, Hunt & Roskell late Storr & Mortimer 5722, center engraved with a family crest and initials.
CONDITION
