ANTIQUE 19thC ENGLISH SILVER PLATED DRUM SHAPED BISCUIT BOX, MAPPIN BROTHERS

Antique 19th Century Victorian silver plated biscuit box by Mappin Brothers, of plain cylindrical form with a hinged cover and an ivory finial, enclosed within a decorative rope twist wirework frame and raised on a matching circular stand, stylised as an antique regimental millitary drum. Typical of late Victorian to Edwardian tableware and designed for serving biscuits, crackers, or small bread items.

Marked to the base "MAPPIN BROTHERS", "222 REGENT STREET & LONDON BRIDGE".
