Antique early-20th Century Burmese solid silver betel box, highly-decorative, repousse' decorated in high relief depicting different traditional scenes from the Burmese mythology, showing very detailed figures set against a chiselled matted background in landscapes. Around the top chased with scrolling foliage, the base decorated with betel leaves, mounted with a lid in similar style and mounted with a round finial. The quality of the box is simply outstanding and very crisp, the figures and proportions are much smaller than usual.
