Antique 20th Century Chinese silver vase of tapering baluster form with a flared, pierced lattice rim. The body is divided into vertical panels, each worked in high relief with figural scenes set within garden landscapes. Figures in traditional dress are shown beside pavilions, trees, rockwork and foliage. The decoration is deeply chased with textured backgrounds and defined borders between panels.
The shoulder features a continuous band of smaller figural scenes beneath a geometric border. The neck rises to a wide reticulated gallery. Applied openwork scroll handles with foliate detail are mounted to either side. The lower body continues the panelled arrangement above a moulded and stepped foot with repeating border decoration.
Unmarked but tests to 900+ grade silver.
