20thC "BLONDE" TURTLE SHELL ON A METAL MOUNT BY ANTHONY REDMILE, LONDON c.1970
A stunning late 19th Century “blond” turtle shell later mounted on metal stand by the renowned designer Anthony Redmile. Redmile has mounted a rare antique turtle shell onto a stand to create a sculptural item that could also be used as a fire screen.
Anthony Redmile burst into the London interior design scene in the 1960s, producing some of the most eclectic items for his illustrious clients. Known to use items which were taken or inspired by the natural world, this item exemplifies Redmile's work.
