ANTIQUE 19thC GERMAN BLACK FOREST ANTLER THERMOMETER c.1890
Antique 19th Century German Black Forest wall thermometer, mounted on a decorative backing formed from paired antlers, with the central thermometer housed in a carved wooden panel and flanked by the natural curves of the horn. The piece is further embellished with cut antler roundels at the top and bottom, and retains the rustic sporting character typical of Black Forest craftsmanship from around c.1890, combining practical function with a striking naturalistic wall display.
