ANTIQUE 20thC ITALIAN PLASTER PORTRAIT BUST ATTRIBUTED TO RICCARDO SECCHI
An impressive Italian plaster portrait bust of an unidentified gentleman, attributed to the sculptor Riccardo Secchi. The bust depicts a distinguished gentleman with a prominent curled moustache, closely cropped hair and a composed, authoritative expression. He is portrayed wearing a formal three-piece suit, with a double-breasted waistcoat, jacket and bow tie. The naturalistic modelling captures the sitter's individual features, while the carefully rendered folds and details of his clothing lend the sculpture a strong sense of character and presence.
