This exquisite decorative cup, titled “Deux Moineaux Moqueurs” (“Two Mocking Sparrows”), was crafted in France in the latter part of the 20th century and bears the distinguished Lalique signature. Fashioned from frosted satin–finish crystal and clear crystal, the cup is composed of three meticulously joined sections. Two rounded sparrows, each with finely modelled feathers and expressive eyes, perch on the rim of a shallow, sunken bowl. Their beaks are tilted skyward, as if pausing after a refreshing drink before swallowing, lending a charmingly naturalistic flourish to the design.
