ANTIQUE 19thC FRENCH ORMOLU BRONZE GARNITURE, G. J. LEVY, PARIS c.1870
Antique 19th Century French garniture, cast bronze in ormolu, a striking ensemble featuring a pair of seven-light candelabras and a mantel clock. The clock is adorned with foliage and crowned with two regal ram heads, with the signature prominently displayed in fine font on the clock face, "G. J. Levy / Paris / Rue Sevigne, 29". The rear of the clock reveals its open casing, stamped with "E.B" and the serial number 3215. The garniture is richly embellished with floral wreaths, rosettes, and a charming mural in the lower centre depicting dancing puttis.
