Each side is applied with a gilt oval cartouche. The base is Hallmarked Italian silver (800 Standard), Milan, mark in use after year 1970. The Maker's mark is rubbed, but by style and quality can be a piece by Guido Fiorentini, a silversmith active in Milan until December 1971, specialized in very decorative presentation pieces such as this.
