VINTAGE 20thC SPANISH SILVER PLATE BOX IN THE FORM OF A STAG BY VALENTÍ c.1970

Vintage 20th Century Spanish made silver plated box by Valentí, naturalistically modelled as a stag at rest. The stag is finely detailed throughout with an expressive head, imposing branched antlers and richly chased fur.. Incorporated into the body is a concealed box, the removable section follows the natural contours of the animal. The stag is raised on a oak plinth. Both decorative and practical this box is a brilliant desk accessory for any country home. 

Valentí is a distinguished Spanish decorative arts firm whose origins date to 1798, when the Valentí family established its first silversmith’s workshop in Barcelona. With craftsmanship and metalwork at the heart of the business, the firm became particularly known for finely made silver and silver plated items, alongside lighting, furniture and decorative objects.
