VINTAGE 20thC SPANISH SOLID SILVER & GREEN GLASS PARROT CLARET JUG c.1950

Vintage 20th Century Spanish solid silver & green glass parrot claret jug. The body is of elongated form with a rich ocloured hand blown emerald green glass, with moulded vertical detailing and an applied loop handle. The novelty avian form is completed with a silver mounted head, pair of naturalistically modelled legs and clawed feet. The head features articulated feather decoration, a prominent swept crest, inset rounded eyes and a hooked beack. Chased throughout to give the plumage texture and character. This unusual and decorative example of barware, combining humour and great craftsmanship is a perfect addition to any drinks cabinet, bar or collection of animal form objects.
