20thC SILK HERMÈS "BRIDE DE COUR" SCARF BY FRANÇOISE DE LA PERRIÈRE, BOXED
A classic and highly sought-after Hermès silk carré titled Bride de Cour, one of the house’s most iconic equestrian designs, created by Françoise de la Perrière and first introduced in 1957 for Hermès.
The design features an ornate ceremonial horse bridle at its centre, richly decorated with tassels, medallions, and intricate leatherwork, set against a shield-like cartouche. This example is rendered in a striking and elegant colourway: a deep royal blue ground framed by a warm caramel-brown border, with elaborate gold detailing throughout. The composition is further enhanced by baroque-style scrollwork and chain motifs, reflecting Hermès’ heritage in fine saddlery and harness-making.
Printed on Hermès’ signature silk twill, the scarf has a luxurious hand and excellent drape, with finely detailed printing and hand-rolled edges.
A timeless Hermès classic and a cornerstone design for collectors, Bride de Cour remains one of the most recognisable and desirable carré patterns, particularly in such a rich and wearable colour combination.
