Antique 19th Century French Solid Silver basket, shaped oval form on four hoof shaped feet, openwork sides applied with garlands, cherubs, birds and rams heads in typical french empire style.

Hallmarked English import silver (F, 925 standard), London, year 1896 (a), Importers mark SBL (Samuel Boyce Landeck). Also the handle bears the French mercury mark (950 standard, made for export)
