VINTAGE 20thC FRENCH 'KASHIMA' SOFA BY MICHEL DUCAROY FOR LIGNE ROSET c.1970

£1,995.00

A superb ‘Kashima’ sofa designed by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset, France, during the 1970s. The Kashima is one of Ducaroy’s distinctive all-foam designs of the period, conceived without a conventional timber frame and characterised by its exceptionally low, enveloping form. The deeply gathered upholstery follows the sculpted foam structure, creating the generous rounded seat, curved back and broad, relaxed arms characteristic of the model. This example retains its wonderfully informal, almost sculptural appearance and is upholstered in a soft dusty-pink fabric. An iconic example of 1970s French design and a particularly desirable model by Michel Ducaroy.
