VINTAGE 20thC ITALIAN MODULAR TEAK WALL CABINET c.1960
A modular mid century wall cabinet and shelving system in teak with dark stained structural uprights and brass detailing. The configuration includes a double door cabinet, a fall front bar cabinet, open shelves and a lower section with drawers and a single door cabinet. The teak veneer shows rich golden grain and excellent craftsmanship, and the overall composition reads balanced, architectural and quietly elegant.
Italian modular systems from the 1960s combined rationalist design principles with domestic warmth, achieving both functionality and sculptural integrity. The contrast between the warm timber and the darker structure provides rhythm and visual depth, while the slender proportions lend vertical grace. Interiors that favour mid century, Milanese modern or contemporary architectural aesthetics take this extremely well because the piece performs as both a functional storage system and a refined decorative statement.
