DESCRIPTION
Antique 20th Century pair of exceptionally decorative Solid Silver figural chambersticks, each of shaped-circular form, profusely chased with scrolls, four arches set with figures in 17th Century clothes playing and singing, the architectural sconce is also embellished with arches and applied with figures, the stem modelled as a scrolling leaf with a naked cherub holding the capital, scrolling leaf-capped handle with Pan playing flute underneath.
Extraordinary pair made in a Renaissance / Baroque style, very fine and detailed.
Each piece bearing a set of pseudo-marks (acid tested shows a 900+ standard), most probably German Hanau, they probably date to the early 20th Century.
