Antique early 20th Century German solid silver & glass monkey shaped claret jug. The jug features a meticulously crafted glass body, shaped to resemble a seated monkey, with its front paws resting on its haunches and its tail gracefully curling upward to form a scroll handle and tail.

The sterling silver mounts are intricately chased to mimic the texture of the monkey's hair, with the neck mount realistically shaped below an applied collar. The hinged head is adorned with life-like glass eyes. Inside, the silver is lined with a gilt interior, reflecting the luxurious attention to detail characteristic of the period.

Hallmarked German solid silver (800 standard), Crescent & Crown (Halbmond und Reichskrone), Maker's mark WTB (Wilhelm Binder).
