The other side holds a locket of woven hair beneath a gold script monogram. The hinged cover bears the gold inscription "SOUVENIR D'AMITIE". The hinged lid mounted with a push button thumbpiece, the interior with two vacant compartments for a tablet and a pencil. Hallmarked Paris 1773, with the charge mark of Julien Alaterre (active 1768-1775) and Jean Baptiste Fouache (active 1775-1781)
