Oomersi Mawji held the prestigious title of Royal Silversmith for the Maharajah of Kutch and produced bespoke silverware for an elite clientele, including European and British nobility. Dating to the 1880s, this piece reflects the distinctive style and quality associated with Mawji's work. Although unmarked, it has been acid tested to confirm a silver purity of 900+, consistent with the craftsmanship from the period between 1880 and 1900. This masterpiece is not only a tribute to the skill of Oomersi Mawji but also a valuable representation of the artistic and cultural exchanges between India and the West during the late 19th century.
