ANTIQUE 19thC INDIAN KUTCH SOLID SILVER PAIR OF DISHES, BHUJ c.1890

Antique 19th Century Indian (Kutch) solid silver pair of dishes / salvers, of circular form, richly embellished with intricate repoussé decoration against a finely matted ground. Each dish features classical Kutch floral and foliate motifs, interspersed with depictions of birds, surrounding a vacant central cartouche. The pierced borders are further enhanced by an ornate decorative outer rim. As often the case for Indian silver the bowl is unmarked, but acid tested shows a 900+ silver standard.
