DESCRIPTION
Antique late-19th Century Japanese Meiji period monumental solid silver bowl, exceptional and magnificent quality, embossed with a continuous landscape and large cherry tree and blossom in high relief on matted hand hammered ground. Standing on a domed base, decorated with flowing foliage and two gilt, Japanese imperial chrysanthemum seals. The base stamped SILVER (950 silver standard), used primary in the Meiji period for items made for export (1868-1912), Makers mark (unknown to me)
