20th Century French silver-gilt singing bird automaton box, of rectangular form, guilloche enamelled in translucent blue over a sun ray and wavy engine-turned ground, the oval cover enamelled with views of the countryside at dawn, opening to reveal a singing feathered bird, comes with original bird shaped key. Hallmarked French silver guarantee mark, maker's mark J.C for J.Granvigne.

20th Century French Cartier Art Deco 14K gold compact, of circular form, set with diamonds, the whole box is decorated with champleve' black enamel with sunburst gold motif to cover and back. The inside of the cover is set with a mirror. Hallmarked 14k gold (585 standard), signed CARTIER, the box dates to the 1920's. Such iconic pieces are very valuable and sought after, often associated to the designer Charles Jacqueau.
