20th Century Imperial Russian silver & cut-glass Pan-Slavic style claret jug. Of baluster shape, cut-glass body profusely decorated, the silver mounts repousse decorated with Slavic scrolls and stylized flowers, the beaded hinged lid surmounted with a large thumb-piece, inside richly parcel-gilt.
Hallmarked Russian 84 silver (875 standard), Moscow, year 1908-1917, Maker's mark in Cyrillic for (Orest Kurliukov, 1884-1916), later French import marks.

19th Century Austrian silver, enamel & gem set two-headed cup, standing on an oval base, shaped bulbous stem and the body hand painted with classical allegorical scenes, the mythical ostrich heads surmounted by jewelled crowns and with a silver chain in mouth.
