ANTIQUE 19thC FRENCH SOLID SILVER PAIR OF FOUR LIGHT CANDELABRA, ODIOT c.1880

19th Century French pair of magnificent five-light candelabra, made in the Louis XVI style, each on cast circular bases, standing on three square feet, column decorated with foliage and ribbon-tied husk bands, the tapering fluted and knopped stem applied with ribbon-tied husk swags, the top terminating in a urn-shaped leaf socket, supporting three acanthus leaf twisting branches and a central light, each branch terminating in vase-shaped foliage chased sockets with beaded wax-pans.

Hallmarked French silver (950 standard), Paris, year 1880-1900, Maker's mark for ODIOT, inventory number 5797.

19th Century Burmese, Myanmar silver thabeik repousse' bowl, very well made and heavy gauge, repousse' decorated in high relief with ten different scenes from the Burmese mythology, representing various figures and animals in a landscape, The quality of the bowl is simply outstanding, heavy gauge and very crisp. The base engraved with a large makers peacock mark.

19th Century Georgian silver mustard pot, of squat circular form on four lion paw shaped feet, exceptionally decorative, all over chased in relief with hunting and courting scenes amid trees, the handle realistically formed as a fig branch, the hinged lid in complimentary style mounted with a bee sitting on an acorn branch.

Hallmarked English Silver (925), London, year 1821 (f), Maker's mark E.F for Edward Farrell.

ANTIQUE 20thC INDIAN SOLID SILVER HUNT SCENE VASE, LUCKNOW c.1900

20th Century Indian Silver vase, square baluster form in the antique Chinese style, each side beautifully decorated with a hand embossed and cast applied decoration featuring hunt scenes, with two horsemen killing a lion, a hunter riding an elephant and chasing a tiger, and a man fighting a monkey. The neck is applied with two cast lion masks with hanging rings. Not marked, but has been acid tested and shows a 800+ silver purity. The vase probably dates in the early 20th Century, and the hunt-related scenes are typical of the Lucknow silver.
