Paolo Buffa (1903–1970) was one of Italy’s most influential mid-century designers, celebrated for his mastery of craftsmanship and innovation in furniture design. Trained as an architect, Buffa’s work combined neoclassical elegance with modernist principles, resulting in pieces that were both functional and exquisitely detailed. Collaborating with leading artisans of the time, he was known for incorporating luxurious materials and sophisticated forms. Buffa’s furniture often featured intricate woodwork and upholstery, making his designs highly sought after by collectors. His influence extended beyond Italy, and his work is now recognised as a cornerstone of mid-century Italian design.
