19th Century genuine and superb Louis Vuitton "haute courier" / steamer trunk, very large size, checked damier pattern canvas, leather bound, reinforced with wooden laths, brass handles to either end, interior lined with cream canvas, fitted with three removable storage trays and drawers, brass hardware, each part is original.
The interior has the French tricolor ribbon and handles, extremely rare as this particular model was produced only for one year, in 1889, for the centenary of the French Revolution (1789). Brand tag reading "LOUIS VUITTON, PARIS 1 Rue Scribe, 454 Strand, London", serial number "45312", the lock also signed and numbered 03992, the piece dates to year 1889
